Financial assistance is available to birth mothers
Financial Assistance can begin with a birth mother’s second trimester and continue until after the baby is born. Birth mother expenses include expenses for housing, transportation, clothing and utilities. The adoptive parents pay the birth mother expenses and the total amount is limited by Indiana law.
Medical expenses: Adoptive parents may pay any uninsured medical expenses related to the birth of the child.
Baby already born: Birth mother expenses incurred during the second and third trimesters until six weeks after the baby is born can be paid by the adoptive parents. Furthermore, Indiana law limits the total amount of the expenses.
